I MAY BE WRONG ABOUT QATAR

Arab states of the Persian Gulf. Arab Gulf States.

The last weeks I’ve been very critical about the deal between Qatar Foundation and FC Barcelona. I do not like Barça wearing a tshirt related to a dictatorship where homosexuals go to jail and the right of women have to improve a lot.

Tonight, however, I have thought that maybe I could wrong in something. Unfortunately the latest suspicions of brivery for the World Cup 2022 do not help me to change my point of view.

I hope tha tthe ones who support the deal with Qatar – Guardiola and Rosell, coach and president of Barça – could explain in a better way their view of Qatar.

I find all very weird because I’m much of the days talking against a deal with Qatar and at the same time it is obvious that I think a lot about Qatar.

Who knows, maybe even if it is true that homosexuality is forbidden maybe it is one of the Gulf countries who puts less homosexuals in jail? I do not know! This is what I would kile to know! The only think I know is that Qatar has a lot of money and that fight witht the West in Qatar!

Who knows, maybe Qatar is not so bad as it may seem by curren laws. Maybe it is acountry that is opening to other ideas. But I do not know! That’s the problem!

Maybe I am wrong but at the moment I just feel a lot of suspicions. I think that all is about money. Qatar has money and that’s the reason why some make a blind eye to dictatorship, homophobia and women’s rights and even possible brivery.

I just hope that no brivery is related to Catalonia.

EL BARÇA TRIA EL DIA INTERNACIONAL CONTRA L’HOMOFÒBIA PER PRESENTAR LA SAMARRETA AMB LA PUBLICITAT DE LA QATAR FOUNDATION

Gay flag nice

——

Sortosament hi ha excepcions, no tot el col·lectiu lgbt de Barcelona i Catalunya és insensible. Aquest post està dirigit a la majoria del col·lectiu i no pas a les honroses excepcions que sé que n’hi ha.

GAYS OF THE WORLD: LET’S UNITE SO THAT BARÇA DOES NOT WEAR HOMOPHOBIC QATAR FOUNDATION IN ITS TSHIRT

[On September 24th 2011 Barça compromissaris voted in favor of Qatar  on the tshirt. So this post is not to challenge the democratic decision of wearing an ad from a dictatorship. It is just the post I wrote some months ago that I wanna keep as a way to remeber what I wrote]

Dear Gays of the World

In some months one football team of Barcelona, FC BARCELONA or BARÇA will wear an ad in its tshirt. It will wear the ad of QATAR FOUNDATION.

As you may know homosexuality is forbidden in Qatar and you may go to prison for being gay there.

As you may know the world of football is a very homophobic one where gays people have to hide.

To add to an still homophobic sport an ad related to a homophobic state seems to me too much?

As you may know too Barcelona City is a very gay friendly city. So now in Barcelona we are going to have a very gay-friendly city with a football team carrying a very homophobic ad!

It is months since I am protesting about that but my fellow men don’t do much. So, I need the help from the world lgbt community!

Please spread the world!

If Barça was a gay team the Qatar Foundation would have never sponsored it! It is sponsoring it because in the West, the football it still remains very homophobic so it suits perfectly well a foundation from a very homophobic country.

I do not know what else to do! I feel so offended.

What could be done? The only thing I can imagine now it is just to spread the word! In this way we can do the opposite of what Qatar Foundation ad means. We can do that when the people around the world see the ad of QATAR FOUNDATION they do not think about this homophobic emirate but about the milions of lgbt people around the world against this homophobic ad in a tshirt!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE IN BARCELONA AND NOT LIKE FOOTBALL?

FC Barcelona Rugby League

In some hours time FC BARCELONA and REAL MADRID play in Madrid a semifinal Champions match.

A lot of people in Barcelona and Catalonia will be watching the match and the public tv will continue its support of the Catalan team.

There are however some big traitors who won’t be following the match and who even do not care about the result. This blogger has found one of them and here it is my interview with him:

MUIGAI: How many people like you do you believe you can find in Barcelona?

TRAITOR: I do not know. It is very difficult to know because the media never talked about us. They only care about the football followers so it is difficult for us to know each other?

MUIGAI: How do you live a match like the one today.

TRAITOR: I live it in a very sad way. I feel as if I was not part of this country. When I watch the Catalan public tv and I see the minutes and minutes they speak about this match instead of other subjects I feel that this only can mean two things: the the Catalan tv is just making us dumb or that something even worse may be the answer.

MUIGAI: How you dare not to like football? How you dare not to like FC Barcelona?

TRAITOR: Well, how can I feel part of a sport where I do not see anybody like me? How can I accept that a sport full of homophobia is the most important thing this evening? I feel that I cannot like a team that hides homosexuality and even has agreements with homophobic governments like the Qatar one?

MUIGAI: Don’t you feel like a traitor to Catalonia? How can you dare not to support the most famous trade mark of your city?

TRAITOR: Well, I just see FC BARCELONA as a machine to make money. They use Catalan nationalism just to have more supporters. I wonder what kind of Catalonia they want to represent when no gays are seen in its teams (not openly, I mean) and they have not problem to make business with Qatar, a dictatorship where gays go to jail because they are gay. The fact that milions of people of people support Barça and that the public media spend part of my money supporting a club of dubious ethics does not mean that I am so stupid as to be a traitor to myself.

MUIGAI: Do you think that Montserrat virgin will forgive you by not supporting Barça?

TRAITOR: I am afraid not …

A POSSIBLE DARK SIDE IN THE JOHN SNOW PUB

Comptons Of Soho during London Gay Pride 2010

A MORE GAY FRIENDLY SITE OF SOHO ...

I just have read a post at http://zefrog.blogspot.com/2011/04/musings-on-john-snow-pub-events.html that brings to me awareness of a series of possible facts that seem to be to be quite dark. I recommed this post. We will have to wait to see if things can be so dark as it could seem.

By the way, have you visited www.johnsnowpub.co.uk ?
